The exact start date of this set of accounts was not recorded. Based on surrounding accounts, it likely picks up from when the previous set of accounts left off and thus spanned from 25 April 1603 until 24 April 1604.
These entries immediately follow a transaction dated to 3 May which, according to the dates for this set of accounts, would be 3 May 1603. Elizabeth I died over a month earlier on 24 March 1603. This means that either these payments were made later for a job completed while she was still on the throne, or that this was a deliberate choice made by the parish for unclear reasons. It is unlikely to be a scribal error in which the scribe meant to write "the King's arms" as for decades after this purchase was made, "the late Queen's arms" are recorded in parish inventories. The inventory for 1631 specifically indicates that the Queen's arms were in a frame, likely referring to the purchases made here.
