Payed the xvii daye of Julii for vi bookes of the psallmes in englyshe to have the servyce of the church there upon them sange to the ende that the people shulde understande to prayse god the better Wylliam Rofford curat resisted and wolde not so synge nor say 

Paid the 17th day of July for six books of psalms in English to have the service of the church there upon them sang to the end [so] that the people should understand [and] to praise God the better. Wylliam Rofford, curate, resisted and would not so sing nor say.
